# Create your first lot

> Step-by-step: how to create your first FSMA 204 traceability lot in FSMA204Hub, log supplier KDEs, and link lots into a finished production batch.

This guide assumes you've already signed up for the free 14-day trial. If
you haven't, start at [the trial signup](/sign-up).

## 1. Open the dashboard

After signing in you'll land on `/app`. The first card prompts you to
create a lot.

## 2. Fill in the lot details

You'll need:

- A **product** (or create one inline)
- A **traceability lot code (TLC)** — your internal code, e.g. `RG-20260501-01`
- The **date the lot was created or received**
- **Quantity and unit**

## 3. Save and continue

Once saved, the lot becomes the anchor for any Critical Tracking Events
(receiving, transformation, shipping) you log against it.
